Join AGC MA for the relaunch of our Building Excellence Series. This program allows attendees to look under the hood at some of the amazing member firms of AGC MA.

This first installment will feature Columbia Construction Company.  Founded in 1925, Columbia is a third-generation construction management company with a proud history of building a multitude of project types and long-lasting client relationships. They empower our teams to take ownership of the job, to solve problems the moment they occur and even before they occur, and to remain accountable at every turn. Their team-oriented approach to planning and addressing any challenge results in proactive solutions, exceptional outcomes, and trusted partnerships. In fact, over 80% of Columbia's business is derived from repeat clients. Columbia ranks in the top 10 of Massachusetts’ largest construction management firms.

Representing Columbia are
Shaun Lover, President, & Bill Aalerud, Exec. V.P, Columbia Construction.

As President of Columbia Construction, Shaun oversees all business operations at the company and provides his overall leadership skills to all of Columbia’s projects.

Shaun has over 20 years of professional experience in the construction industry. He has worked on a range of project types, providing a variety of construction skills essential for the proper progress of a job. As part of his overall experience, Shaun has eight years of field experience on projects ranging from $10 million to $150 million, and seven years as a Project Manager running projects ranging from $1 million to $84 million. Many of these projects were for highly specialized complexes and campuses.

A problem solver that pays great attention to detail, Shaun is a valuable asset to our project team.

As Executive Vice President, Bill plays an integral role in providing oversight and implementation of continued growth in Columbia Constructions leading market segments. Known for his experience and interpersonal skills, as well as his strategic planning expertise, Bill is responsible for working closely with the firm’s Principals to help guide Columbia’s long-term strategic growth. Bill has taken a leadership role in implementing Lean tools and practices in his never ending pursuit of continuous improvement.

Bill is currently the Chair of the AGC MA Board of Directors and also sits on the Workforce Development Task Force.
