AGC MA is proud to partner with
Passive House Massachusetts and
Passive House Institute US to offer the in-person Certified Passive House Builder (CPHB) course. This two-part training prepares attendees to complete the CPHB Professional Exam to achieve the nationally recognized credential.
This training prepares construction professionals to understand the application of passive building techniques — airtight enclosures, high-performance window installation, passive design strategies, field quality assurance, and site management.
The course offers real-world insights into on-site implementation as well as insight on both the practical and business concerns specific to high performance and zero energy building. It covers not only craftsmanship, but also risks and liability to the Phius Certified Builder and guidance in both problem-solving and (more importantly) problem avoidance.
Course Format
This course is delivered in two parts:
Part 1: Self Paced online learning modules (roughly 8 hours)
Part 2: Three 8-hour in-person sessions over 3 days (24 hours)
Professional Exam: Starts after live instruction, 4 weeks to complete
