Boston is known as the city of neighborhoods. Each area with its own distinct history, architecture, and culture. Nubian Square in Roxbury has long been the center of African American culture in Boston. Formerly Dudley Square, the area was renamed in 2019 in recognition of the neighborhood residents and local businesses.
Franklin Cummings Tech (formerly Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology) was created through a gift from the will of founding father Benjamin Franklin. The original school was built in 1908. In 2019, FCT announced plans to sell it's 1908 campus and move to Nubian Square in Roxbury.
Franklin Cummings Tech is an affordable, urban college serving the Boston region and committed to student success and career readiness in technology fields. Through personalized support, hands-on learning, and industry-informed curricula, the college prepares graduates for work, life-long learning, and citizenship.
