Hard Hats for Hearts 5K (timed race/fun walk)

You can’t be safe without your health.

In the U.S., construction workers have a higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease.

Long hours, high stress, poor nutrition, high tobacco use, and the lack of heart-strengthening exercise are among the biggest culprits. In fact, 343,000 construction workers (1 in 25) have already been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease. That’s why the American Heart Association is working with leaders in the construction industry on Hard Hats with Heart, an initiative to engage construction workers nationwide and inspire them to live longer, healthier lives. Overall, prioritizing cardiovascular health in the workplace can lead to a safer, healthier, and more productive workforce.​

The AGC MA community has been welcomed to the American Heart Association’s Have Heart 5K anchored by the legal industry and historically called Lawyers Have Heart. We encourage each company or group to host a team under our “Association of General Contractors” team.  This 5K timed race is also a fun run and has a 1-mile walk option! All are welcome! Because the health issues that plague the construction industry are like that of the legal community, we are inviting you to join this 5K anchored by the legal industry.  All companies, runners, and walkers are welcome and wanted!
